Bhubaneswar, July 17 -- Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb on Friday said it would be difficult for all three chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra to reach the Shree Gundicha Temple on the first day of the Rath Yatra, despite efforts to continue pulling the chariots under artificial lighting after sunset.

In a video message, the Gajapati Maharaja said the pulling of the chariots on Thursday commenced around 5 p.m., leaving only about one to one-and-a-half hours of daylight, till around 6.00-6.30 p.m.

He said that while the chariots might be pulled a little further with the help of artificial lighting after dusk, expecting all three to reach the Shree Gundicha Temple on the same day would be unrealistic.
