Ranchi, June 18 -- All 81 members of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly cast their votes on Thursday in the election to two Rajya Sabha seats from the state.
Polling, which began at 9 am in the Assembly premises, concluded peacefully with 100 per cent voting recorded. The election witnessed a three-cornered contest involving JMM candidate Baidyanath Ram, Congress nominee Pranav Jha and Independent candidate Parimal Nathwani, who is backed by the NDA.
Leaders from both the ruling Mahagathbandhan and the NDA expressed confidence about their respective candidates' prospects after casting their votes.
