Lucknow, Aug. 17 -- Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav has launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government over waterlogging in Prayagraj.

Sharing a post on a social media platform on Monday, Akhilesh Yadav said that history teaches that cities and civilisations developed along the banks of rivers, but under BJP rule in Uttar Pradesh, the picture has changed, and roads are turning into rivers every day.

Yadav said that due to corruption, the drainage system in the state's main city has become so disreputable that waterlogging on roads has become common. He alleged that the city in question has become a model of mismanagement.
