Lucknow, Sept. 5 -- Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday criticised the BJP government over the demolition of a mosque in the Saharanpur Collectorate complex, accusing the authorities of undermining communal harmony and questioning the circumstances surrounding the action.
Speaking on the issue, Yadav said that respecting people of all faiths is fundamental to Sanatan Dharma.
"A true Hindu can never insult another. This is what we have learned in Sanatan Dharma," he said.
Invoking the principle of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam", Yadav said Sanatan values emphasised harmony and coexistence, adding that protecting communal peace is among the government's foremost responsibilities.
