Ranchi, April 4 -- The All Jharkhand Students union (AJSU) Party on Saturday demanded that the Jharkhand government complete the required legal and administrative process to provide Other Backward Classes (OBC) reservation in future panchayat elections.

AJSU central general secretary and spokesperson Sanjay Mehta said the party had challenged the state government's decision to conduct the 2022 panchayat elections without OBC reservation on a substantial number of seats.

He alleged that around 10,000 seats earlier earmarked for OBC reservation had been shifted to the general category during the 2022 panchayat polls.
