Ranchi, March 10 -- An AJSU legislator was marshalled out of the Jharkhand Assembly on Tuesday after opposition members protested in the Well of the House over the law and order situation during the Budget Session.

The incident occurred when AJSU MLA Nirmal Mahto alias Tiwari Mahto reached the reporting table and began banging it while opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members raised slogans demanding a discussion on law and order.

Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi said the state government had failed to control crime and demanded suspension of Question Hour for a discussion on the issue.

As the protests intensified, marshals intervened and escorted Mahto out of the House.
