Vadodara, Feb. 24 -- The 72nd Senior Nationals Men's Kabaddi Championship 2026 began on Monday at the Sama Indoor Complex in Vadodara, with former Himachal Pradesh captain and Puneri Paltan head coach Ajay Thakur describing the tournament as the premier proving ground in Indian kabaddi, as per a release.
Speaking ahead of the championship, Thakur said success at the Senior Nationals carries unmatched prestige at the domestic level.
"The Senior Nationals is the biggest event at the national level. If you win here, whether it's gold, silver, or bronze, you feel immense pride. You are a national champion. It means you have conquered the whole of India, and that builds tremendous confidence," he said.
