Hyderabad, April 28 -- The city police on Tuesday intercepted and detained activists of the All India Students' Federation (AISF) who had set out on a foot march from Himayat Nagar to the residence of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, demanding clearance of pending fee reimbursement and scholarship arrears.
The protesters were taken into custody en route and shifted to Afzal Gunj Police Station. Similar detentions of student activists were also reported from various districts.
Condemning the police action, CPI Telangana state assistant secretary Takkallapalli Srinivasa Rao termed the arrests unlawful and undemocratic. He said the students were peacefully raising legitimate concerns related to delays in fee reimbursement and scholarship paym...
