Kolkata, Aug. 12 -- An Air India Express flight to Chennai was delayed by nearly six hours at Kolkata airport on Wednesday after a technical problem was detected shortly before take-off, triggering angry protests by passengers who alleged they were left without clear information for hours.
The flight, carrying around 170 passengers, was scheduled to leave Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport at 6.30 am. Boarding passes had already been issued when passengers were informed that the aircraft had developed a technical problem.
The passengers were subsequently asked to wait at the airport. Several alleged that neither a clear departure time nor adequate assistance was provided as they remained stranded.
