Srinagar, Oct. 23 -- Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) headed by jailed MP Engineer Rashid on Friday urged the Jammu and Kashmir government to introduce a time-bound, legally sustainable policy for regularising eligible daily wagers, consolidated-pay employees, contractual workers and other temporary staff, saying prolonged uncertainty has left thousands of families anxious about their future.
The demand came amid reports that 1,00,501 workers across various categories have been registered in Jammu and Kashmir. The earlier regularisation rules were repealed in October 2023 and a government committee was constituted in March 2025 to examine the issue.
