Hyderabad, March 15 -- AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP, Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday strongly criticised the proposed anti-conversion bill in Maharashtra, alleging that it violates constitutional guarantees of religious freedom and privacy.
In a post on social media platform X, Owaisi said the proposed legislation is "worse than the worst" among existing anti-conversion laws in the country, including the one in Uttar Pradesh.
He alleged that such laws already criminalise genuine religious conversions, make interfaith marriages risky and require prior permission for conversion.
