Hyderabad, July 9 -- union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda on Thursday said the ongoing construction works at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bibinagar, are 87 per cent complete and the premier institute will be fully operational by December 2026.

Speaking to the media after inspecting the construction progress, Nadda said the Centre had made unprecedented investments in strengthening healthcare infrastructure over the past decade.

He said the number of AIIMS institutions had increased from a handful to 22. At the same time, medical colleges had expanded from 370 to over 820 across the country, significantly enhancing access to quality healthcare and medical education.
