Bhubaneswar, June 6 -- Doctors at AIIMS Bhubaneswar have successfully removed a massive 7-kg tumour from the arm of a 47-year-old woman, employing advanced surgical techniques to treat a rare and debilitating condition that had affected her for nearly three decades.
According to AIIMS Bhubaneswar sources, the patient, a daily-wage labourer from Baripada in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district, had been suffering from a giant Plexiform Neurofibroma of the left upper limb.
The tumour had gradually enlarged over the years, extending from the middle of her arm to the back of her hand and severely impairing her mobility and daily activities.
