Bhubaneswar, Oct. 16 -- AIIMS Bhubaneswar has launched a portable Breast Self-Examination (BSE) booth, claimed to be the first of its kind in India, to promote breast health awareness among women and encourage early detection of breast cancer.
The facility was inaugurated at the Department of Medical Oncology as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, officials said on Friday.
Inaugurating the booth, AIIMS Bhubaneswar Executive Director Dr Ashutosh Biswas underscored the importance of early detection, timely medical consultation and regular breast self-examination in improving treatment outcomes.
He urged women to remain vigilant about unusual changes in their breasts and seek medical advice promptly if they notice any abnormalities.
