Chennai, June 15 -- Stung by the Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker JCD Prabhakar's ruling accepting the resignation of four AIADMK legislators who joined the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) of Chief Minister Joseph Vijay, even as disqualification proceedings were pending against them for voting in favour of the government in the trust vote in violation of the whip, the party moved the Madras High Court challenging the decision, besides restraining the Election Commission to hold the bye-elections to the four seats.

AIADMK Whip Agri SS Krishnamurthi filed a petition on Monday seeking to quash the Speaker's acceptance of the four MLAs' resignations.
