Hyderabad, July 3 -- Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to make healthcare more accessible, affordable and efficient, but it should complement rather than replace doctors, AIG Hospitals Chairman Dr D Nageshwar Reddy said on Friday while delivering the 16th Foundation Day Lecture at the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education.

Speaking on the theme, "Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Healthcare," Dr Nageshwar Reddy remarked, "AI will not replace doctors, but doctors who use AI will replace those who don't."He said AI is transforming drug discovery, radiology, telemedicine, precision medicine, cancer detection and remote patient monitoring, while significantly reducing drug development timelines.
