Srinagar, Sept. 23 -- On the first anniversary eve of Ladakh violence, Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena approved withdrawal of criminal cases against 20 people booked in connection with the incidents, even as groups in the union Territory have planned a protest to mark the occasion.
The Ladakh LG said the decision was taken in the larger interest of peace, public tranquility, and social harmony in the region.
"..I have approved the withdrawal of criminal cases against 20 individuals, related to the unfortunate violence that erupted in Leh on September 24 last year," the LG said on X.
