Mumbai, Sept. 5 -- Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharne on Saturday raised concerns over the emerging dry spell in parts of the state, including Beed, and urged the government to take immediate measures to protect farmers and their crops.
Referring to a letter reportedly written by Dhananjay Munde to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Bharne drew attention to the difficult agricultural situation caused by inadequate rainfall in August.
He said the lack of rain had put crops at risk and stressed the need for prompt government intervention.
Commenting on the alleged scuffle involving Yavatmal MP Sanjay Deshmukh, Bharne defended the MP and supported his position.
