Kolkata, Aug. 24 -- West Bengal Urban Development Minister Agnimitra Paul, who faced political criticism after a video showing her speaking sternly to a woman living on a pavement and asking her to leave went viral on social media, prompting Opposition leaders to question the manner in which the woman was addressed.
The woman was reportedly heating milk for her infant child on the pavement when Paul spoke to her.
The episode triggered a political row, with Trinamool Congress (TMC) spokesperson Kunal Ghosh visiting the spot and speaking to the woman, while Opposition leaders criticised the minister's conduct.
