Chandigarh, July 23 -- Fresh controversy has surfaced surrounding Punjabi cinema after an Amritsar resident was denied entry with his children to a screening of the newly released film 'Dastar' at a local multiplex on Wednesday evening, reigniting debate over the Central Board of Film Certification's (CBFC) handling of movies centered on Sikh history and identity.
The incident occurred at Trillium Mall on Wednesday evening when Varinder Singh, a local jeweler and social media influencer, attempted to purchase tickets for the film for his family, including four minor children. Multiplex personnel refused to allow the children into the auditorium, citing statutory compliance with the film's 'A' (Adults Only) classification.
