Lucknow, July 22 -- After rains, now Uttar Pradesh is witnessing flood fury as a couple of rivers are flowing above the danger level while others are rising constantly.
The Sharda River in Lakhimpur Kheri is flowing above the danger mark, and water has entered villages along its banks. The situation is so dire that crocodiles are seen roaming the roads and fields.
In Sonbhadra, the Ghaghra River's rising water level washed away the road to the district jail. In Varanasi, the Ganga water level has risen 10 feet in a week.
From Assi Ghat to Namo Ghat, 50 temples, large and small, have been submerged. In Prayagraj, the steps of several ghats have been submerged.
