Thiruvananthapuram, July 23 -- The Kerala Government has suspended Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) M.R. Ajith Kumar over allegations of interfering in the investigation into the alleged assault on Youth Congress workers during the Nava Kerala Sadas programme in Alappuzha.
The action was taken based on the findings of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that investigated the case and the subsequent report submitted by State Police Chief Ravada A. Chandrasekhar to the Home Department.
The SIT reportedly found that the investigation was allegedly influenced and that the case diary was altered in an attempt to weaken the case against those accused in the assault.
