New Delhi, July 27 -- Shortly after being discharged from Gurugram's Medanta Hospital, activist Sonam Wangchuk on Monday paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat, stating his faith in Gandhian methods had been reaffirmed after witnessing the success of the peaceful agitation led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP).

Visiting the memorial with his wife, Gitanjali Angmo, before returning to Ladakh, Wangchuk said Rajghat was his first stop after leaving the hospital.

"I wanted to come to Rajghat first to remember Mahatma Gandhi, to express my gratitude to him and to tell the country that the path he showed remains just as relevant and appropriate today as it was a hundred years ago," Wangchuk told reporters.
