Hyderabad, Aug. 25 -- Officials of the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have caught four government officials in two separate bribery cases involving illegal gratification for extending official favours.
In the first case, ACB officials of the Adilabad Range trapped Koppela Gadavari, State Tax Officer, Nirmal Circle, and Manthri Sai Krishna, Senior Assistant in the office of the Assistant Commissioner (State Tax), Nirmal.
The officials had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a businessman in connection with the audit of records of Sri Laxmi Prasanna Jewellers for 2022-23 and 2023-24. The demand was eventually reduced to Rs 50,000.
During the trap, Gadavari allegedly received the Rs 50,000 and handed it over to Sai Krishna....
