Chester-le-Street, July 1 -- India witnessed contrasting fortunes at the top of the order in the opening T20I against England here on Wednesday, with Abhishek Sharma scripting a six-hitting record while Sanju Samson's prolonged struggles continued.

Abhishek became the fastest batsman from a Full Member nation to complete 100 sixes in men's T20 Internationals, reaching the milestone in just 785 balls. He eclipsed the previous record of West Indies opener Evin Lewis, who had taken 789 deliveries.

New Zealand's Finn Allen (871), Australia's Tim David (931), New Zealand's Colin Munro (963) and India's Suryakumar Yadav (1,007) trail the left-hander on the elite list.
