New Delhi, July 1 -- Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Wednesday condemned the alleged attack on party MP Mahua Moitra, accusing the West Bengal Police of failing to act despite a recent direction from the Calcutta High Court to ensure adequate security for elected representatives.
In a post on social media platform X, Banerjee said the police's silence following the incident had raised "serious questions", referring to the High Court's recent directive to the Director General of Police to provide appropriate safeguards.
