Kolkata, July 16 -- Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha member Abhishek Banerjee gave his voice sample before a lower court on Wednesday, complying with a Calcutta High Court order given last week.
In an ultimatum on July 10, the High Court had ordered Banerjee to give his voice sample by noon on Wednesday, failing which the interim protection granted to him by the judiciary in the "DJ remark" case would be withdrawn.
Banerjee deposed before the Bidhanangar court at 11.49 am for giving his voice sample and left the venue at 1.27 p.m.
A host of experts including forensic specialists and those from the state police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) attended the session in the presence of a magistrate.
