New Delhi, May 4 -- A political row has erupted over the West Bengal election results declared today, after Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh alleged large-scale irregularities, claiming the outcome reflected a "failure of democracy" rather than a clear public mandate.
Addressing the media here, Singh said that nearly 2.7 million voters were allegedly deprived of their voting rights and argued that without this factor the results could have been significantly different. He claimed that despite this, the vote share gap between the BJP and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) remained narrow, at around 2 per cent.
