Agartala, April 11 -- A delegation from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) conducted a site visit to the long-abandoned Kailashahar Airport to assess its current condition and explore future possibilities.

The team comprised the Chief Security Officer of Agartala Airport, S K Roy, and Deputy General Manager (Electrical) Ram Kesh Mina, along with others. They inspected the derelict airport premises, noting significant deterioration.

Multiple buildings were found in disrepair, characterized by leaking roofs, broken windows, and extensive vegetation growth on the upper floors of the Air Traffic Control (ATC) building, raising concerns about structural stability.
