Shahid K AbbasNew Delhi, April 12 -- Legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday, at the age of 92, after suffering a heart attack at a Mumbai hospital, bringing to a close one of the most extraordinary journeys in the history of Indian music.
She breathed her last at Breach Candy Hospital, where she had been admitted to the ICU a day earlier following cardiac and respiratory complications, family sources confirmed. Her son, Anand Bhosle, said she had been unwell for several months before her condition turned critical on Saturday night. Her last rites will be held on Monday, April 13.
