Chennai, June 17 -- A day after AIADMK stalwart and former Health Minister Dr C Vijayabaskar resigned as MLA, the Viralimalai Assembly seat in Pudukkottai district of Tamil Nadu, was notifed as vacant on Wednesday, paving the way for holding bye-elections.
With this the total number of vacancies in the 234-member House went up to six.
He is the fifth AIADMK MLA, who were among the 25 MLAs voted in favour of the ruling TVK in the confidence vote in the Assembly, to relinquish his MLA post.
