Nagpur, July 9 -- : As many as 800 senior citizens from Nagpur district will undertake a free pilgrimage to the Mahabodhi Mahavihar at Bodh Gaya in Bihar under the Maharashtra government's Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana (Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Scheme), with a special train scheduled to be flagged off on July 11, officials said on Thursday.
The initiative aims to enable senior citizens from all religions to undertake pilgrimages without any financial burden. The state government will bear the entire cost of travel, accommodation, food and other essential arrangements during the tour.
