Shimla, May 28 -- Around 80 percent polling was recorded in the second phase of Panchayati Raj elections in Himachal Pradesh on Thursday, with Kullu district registering the highest voter turnout of 86 per cent, according to the State Election Commission.
Voting was conducted in 1,276 Gram Panchayats using ballot papers and ballot boxes from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
In the second phase of the general elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions held in the year 2021, about 76 percent of voters in the state exercised their franchise in 1208 Gram Panchayats.
