Ahilyanagar, April 13 -- A road accident on the Kalyan-Ahilyanagar highway claimed the lives of eight people after a head-on collision between an Eco car and a cement mixer truck on Monday.
According to initial reports, the impact of the crash was so severe that the car was completely mangled, leaving the passengers with no chance to escape.
Eight occupants of the car died on the spot, while one person sustained critical injuries and is currently in a serious condition.
Local residents rushed to the scene immediately after hearing the loud crash and began rescue efforts.
