Mumbai, Aug. 31 -- A 72-year-old woman, accused in a fraud case involving a property worth around Rs 100 crore, has moved a bail application after being arrested for repeatedly failing to appear before the court.
The accused, identified as Amina Usman Dada, a resident of Bhulabhai Desai Road in South Mumbai, was arrested by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) after a non-bailable warrant (NBW) was issued against her for continued absence from court proceedings.
Amina Dada was produced last week before the 47th Metropolitan Magistrate Court, which remanded her to judicial custody. Following her arrest, she moved a bail plea, contending that she is a senior citizen and innocent.
