Kabul, June 27 -- A 6.2-magnitude earthquake jolted northeastern Afghanistan on Saturday evening, sending tremors all the way from Pakistan to northern India and Tajikistan, with mild tremors felt in Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake's epicentre was located near Jurm in Afghanistan's northeastern Badakhshan region at a depth of approximately 208 km.

The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) recorded the quake at a depth of 215 km and said it occurred at 7.04 pm IST.
