Hyderabad, June 30 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has initiated a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Telangana with October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date, and nearly 60 per cent of the enumeration forms have already been distributed, according to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Telangana.
In a press note issued on Tuesday, the CEO said the SIR is being undertaken under Article 324 of the Constitution, Section 21 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, and the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960. Preparatory activities, including training and printing of forms, were completed between June 15 and June 24, while Booth Level Officers (BLOs) began house-to-house verification on June 25....
