Kolkata, June 3 -- In a significant development, nearly 60 MLAs led by Ritabrata Banerjee of the Trinamool Congress met at the Noushad Ali Bhawan of the state Assembly on Wednesday, which is indicative enough that the Trinamool Congress is on the verge of a split.

Though there has been no confirmation, expelled TMC MLA Ritabrata arrived at the Assembly in the morning carrying a letter purportedly signed by the support of 59 MLAs.

However, another expelled TMC MLA said, "You will get to know everything after the meeting.
