Lucknow, May 19 -- The 100-day "TB-Free India Campaign" being implemented in Uttar Pradesh has laid a strong foundation toward tuberculosis elimination by achieving remarkable milestones in its first 50 days.

Through extensive active screening, technology-based diagnostics, and community participation across the state, the Health Department has identified a large number of potential TB patients and connected them with treatment services.

Under the campaign, more than 2.2 million people have been screened so far. To confirm suspected cases identified during screening, over 1.5 million X-rays and more than 400,000 NAAT tests have been conducted.
