Shimla, Aug. 18 -- Himachal Pradesh has intensified its crackdown on drug abuse and trafficking under a zero-tolerance policy, registering 5,642 cases and arresting 8,250 people during the tenure of the present government, Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil said on Tuesday.
While chairing a one-day workshop for stakeholders on combating drug abuse and drug trafficking here, Shandil said drug abuse was harmful to both physical and mental health and called for collective efforts by the government, parents and society to protect the younger generation.
