Nanoor, Sept. 28 -- Nearly 40 families displaced from Papuri village in Nanoor have returned to their ancestral homes after nearly 17 years, following an intervention by the Calcutta High Court.
The families returned to the village this month under the supervision of a large police contingent from Nanoor police station, following directions from a bench of Justice Saugat Bhattacharya. On reaching Papuri, members of the families visited their abandoned properties and met residents.
