Agartala, Oct. 23 -- The Durga Puja festivities, which ran for a week, formally wrapped up on Friday with a carnival in the city.
Police said at least four people died and 23 were injured across Tripura, with 11 accident cases registered in total.
Even amid the celebrations, road crashes were reported across several parts of the state. The worry: more people on the streets and heavier traffic made roads riskier during the festival days.
A district-wise count showed West Tripura and Unakoti had the most accidents, three each. West Tripura logged one fatal and two non-fatal crashes, which left seven people hurt and one killed. Unakoti's toll looked similar, with one fatal and two non-fatal accidents causing one death and four injuries.
