Lucknow, Sept. 22 -- The Uttar Pradesh government transferred 34 IAS officers late on Monday night with changing District Magistrates of 14 districts.
Five of these DMs were given command of other districts, while nine were removed and assigned to administrative positions.
According to official sources here on Tuesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and senior officers were unhappy with the working style of these district magistrates. It was believed that leaving these officers in charge during the assembly elections could harm the government.
