Chennai, June 15 -- In a shocking incident, a three-year-old child was allegedly raped and it later died at a government hospital where she was admitted, on Monday.
The incident occurred near SIPCOT Industrial Estate at Gummidipoondi in neighbouring Tiiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu on Sunday evening.
Police sources said one person, identified as 19-year-old migrant worker from Bihar, was arrested in this connection, after he was nabbed and thrashed by the locals.
The girl was found unconscious in a bush and was to government Stanley Medical College Hospital in Chennai, where she died today morning.
Condemning the incident, parents of the girl and the locals staged night long protests, which spilled over to Monday. Despite senior polic...
