Bengaluru, May 14 -- Twenty-four children from Bihar were rescued at Bengaluru Railway Station after allegedly fleeing a madrasa in Karnataka's Tumakuru district, claiming harassment and abuse by a cleric, police said on Thursday.

The children had reportedly escaped from Jamia Arabia Hasinia Trust at Amlapura in Tumakuru district and reached Bengaluru railway station, where they were traced and rescued by the Railway Protection Force (RPF).

According to Tumkur Rural Police, the children were subsequently taken to safety and produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), which later transferred the case to Tumakuru for further action.
