New Delhi, July 8 -- The Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering & Winter Sports (JIM & WS), Pahalgam, successfully conducted a 22-member mountaineering expedition to the Mt Khyam Tso Massif in the Rumtse Phu region of Ladakh, showcasing exceptional mountaineering skills, endurance and determination in one of India's most challenging high-altitude terrains.

The expedition was flagged off on June 26 by Team Leader Col Hem Chandra Singh.

The team underwent a structured acclimatisation programme in the Ladakh region before undertaking the summit attempts in extreme climatic conditions.

The expedition achieved a major milestone on July 2 when the team successfully summited Mt Peak Pt 5901M despite severe weather conditions.
