Neeraj BaliChandigarh, Aug. 18 -- A death that appeared to have ended with a routine burial in an Amritsar village has been reopened nearly three weeks later, after the deceased man's sister questioned how he died.
The body of Soni Masih, a resident of Tera Kalan in Ajnala, was taken out of his grave on Tuesday and sent for a postmortem. The examination was ordered after his sister Komal approached the authorities with concerns about the circumstances surrounding his death.
He died on July 27 and was buried by his family according to their customary rites. There was no immediate public dispute over the death.
