New Delhi, April 8 -- Delhi Police has busted a fake call center syndicate that was operating from Pitampura by arresting 19 people involved, amongst which 12 were women, an officer said on Wednesday.

According to the police, the inquiry was followed by intel that was received on Tuesday about a syndicate that was duping people across the country by posing as representatives of Bajaj Finserv and other financial entities.

With this information, a joint team conducted a raid at the premises, where the accused were found making fraudulent calls using mobile phones, they said.

"The gang was targeting victims by offering loans and insurance benefits," said Vikram Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer District).
