Tridib BaparnashNew Delhi, Aug. 10 -- Seventeen kilograms lighter and back among the runs, Sarfaraz Khan has earned another chance to revive his India Test career. The 28-year-old batter has been recalled to the national squad as a replacement for B Sai Sudharsan ahead of the two-Test series against Sri Lanka, more than a year after his last appearance for India.

Sarfaraz's return comes after a long lay-off, during which the 28-year-old went back to domestic cricket and worked extensively on his fitness, while continuing to pile up runs. As pointed out by his father Naushad Khan in an interaction with the UNI, Sarfaraz did all he could to remain in contention for a second chance.
