Bhopal, April 12 -- Police and administrative authorities deboarded around 170 Muslim children from a train at Katni station in Madhya Pradesh late Saturday night after receiving a tip-off about possible human trafficking.

The children, most of them minors from Bihar, were travelling on the Patna-Pune Express. They were reportedly being taken from Bihar to Maharashtra.

According to RPF Inspector Virendra Singh, information was received that about 167 Muslim children were travelling under suspicious circumstances.

He said a joint team of the RPF, GRP, and the Women and Child Development Department inspected the train at Katni station and safely deboarded all the children, along with some individuals who claimed to be taking them to Mahara...
